There are moments in your life that spark thoughts about your estate and philanthropic plans.
Laura Heath-Arme, D.P.M.’12, FACFAS, a podiatric physician in Phoenix and the newest member of the Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences Alumni Board, recently had one of those moments.
Upon marrying her spouse, Jason Arme, in 2022, the newlyweds felt inspired to document a planned gift that will benefit the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
Philanthropy has long been a part of Heath-Arme’s life. She holds the position of secretary of the Arizona Foot and Ankle Medical Association, is a longtime volunteer for her sorority, Alpha Phi, and a mentor to collegiate women. She considers her role on the DMU Alumni Board as a way to continue to give back.
“DMU will always have a special place in my heart. It’s an excellent school, and I’m excited to see it continue to attract outstanding students,” she says. “It’s a place you want to be known to have graduated from. I am grateful for my DMU experience and want to recognize that through a gift to the Purple & Proud Campaign.”
Generosity and philanthropy come in many forms, and now is a great time to document a planned gift of your own to be a part of DMU’s historic Purple & Proud Campaign. Donors who document their planned gift before June 30 will have a tree planted in their honor at the West Des Moines campus.
