Trees and Benches
Donors can leave their legacy, support Des Moines University’s Purple & Proud Campaign and enhance the university’s West Des Moines campus by making gifts to sponsor trees and benches:
- Tree: $1,500 – Tree sponsors will be recognized with a ground-level plaque.
- Bench: $2,500 – Bench sponsors will be recognized with a plaque attached to the bench.
All plaques will use this standard language:
- A gift from _________________
Sponsors also may add one of these phrases to their plaque:
- In honor of ______________
- In memory of ______________
- In tribute to ______________
DMU’s development team will work with each donor to identify the location of their tree or bench. Trees and benches will be maintained by the university’s facilities management team.

Groups wishing to partner together to donate a tree or bench should identify a point person to work with the university on the gift. All gifts through crowdfunding must reach the required donation amount before installation can progress. Please contact donations@dmu.edu to organize a crowdfunding campaign.
